You were the warm night’s gentle breeze that I have always longed for, twirling around me like the leaves in the fall as if an old friend that has missed me all year, so desperately wanted but lost for so long; familiar and yet so new.
In I breathed your warm fresh air, filling my lungs with my deepest desires and leaving my body with all the fears I once hid. Dancing into my soul taking every bad memory of the past with you, acceptance, love and protection is what you left behind.
Like a thief in the night, you came and left with nothing but my heart. My heart which had never been touched with a soft tender hold of a man but only with a rough controlling grip of the ones who came before.
You were effortless, as simple as the leaves floating to the ground or the warm afternoon sun glowing off my cheeks. “Come my love, I will forever be with you, I will forever be yours,” I hear as the wind kisses my face, brushing my hair back, as if to get a better view of my eyes. I smile as the words dance across my lips leaving nothing but a smile. She smiles.
I was left with disbelief and all my prayers answered; my world that was always spinning around me, past me, finally became the warm night’s gentle breeze that I have always longed for.
